Negative Pressure Wound Therapy

Powered wound suction device with specialized dressing for chronic wounds.

Introducing the National Wound Care Closed Suction Wound Drainage System (Wound Sucker). The CSWDS is a powered suction machine connected via tubing directly into the patient's wound bed to remove exudate from the wound and to apply a negative pressure to the wound site.

On April 19th 2006, CMS (Medicare) determined that the NWC CSWDS (Wound Sucker) qualifies as a 'Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Device' assigning it the HCPCS code E2402. This determination will also apply to most private insurers, and most state Medicaid intermediaries. Illinois Department of Public Aid had already approved the NWC CSWDS as a "Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Pump" early in 2005, and we have been utilizing it in the field for over one year now with great success!
